New Delhi: . Some prominent figures of Jamiat Ulema and other Muslim leaders met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on April 4. They discussed with him the incidents of communal violence after Ram Nomi and strict action against those spreading hate. The delegation was led by Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema Hind. Apart from them, Jamiat Media Secretary Maulana Niaz Farooqui Advocate and members of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Kamal Farooqui and Prof. Akhtar Al Wasi etc. were present in the delegation. According to NDTV, after the meeting, Muslim leaders praised Amit Shah. Maulana Niaz Farooqui informed about the details of the meeting and told NDTV that the delegation mentioned 14 challenges facing the country. He said that the recent incidents of communal violence in Bihar, West Bengal and Maharashtra were among the main topics of the meeting.
Niaz Farooqui said, “He was different from the Amit Shahs we see giving political speeches, he responded positively, he listened to us in detail, he was not in a denial mode.”
Farooqui said that the Muslim leaders also raised the issue of setting fire to a madrassa in Bihar’s Nalanda. The meeting also discussed the murder of Junaid and Nasir, residents of Rajasthan’s Bharatpur. Nasir (25) and Junaid (35) were allegedly abducted by Guo guards on February 15. Their bodies were found in a burnt car in Haryana’s Bhiwani the next morning, Farooqui said, adding, “Hateful speeches were also made by BJP leaders.” On this, he said that there are all kinds of people, so it is not right to see everyone through the same lens. He said that the government is not involved in this.
Farooqui said that we told him that your silence is a cause of despair among Muslims. He said he would look into it.
