Meta Platforms Inc. head of social virtual reality platform Horizon, Vivek Sharma, is leaving the company after five years to pursue a new opportunity, he told Reuters on Friday.
Horizon is the main portal for access to the Metaverse, which the company is investing billions of dollars in building.
Sharma was responsible for developing the immersive virtual environment that users experience when they are in the “Metaverse”. Sharma was previously Vice President of Product for Facebook Gaming and Facebook Marketplace.
