A new food alert has come to spain and action has already been taken. The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has ordered the immediate withdrawal of a batch of flour of all supermarkets when detecting the presence of gluten not included in its labeling. The reason is that this can cause a risk for people who have health problems derived from the consumption of this set of proteins, such as allergies or celiac disease.
The health authorities that have located this problem in the first instance and have separated the lot are the competent ones Valencian Community and they have been the ones who have transferred the notice through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI). This autonomous community, in fact, is one of the most affected by the distribution of this batch of flour, as well as Aragon and Catalonia. However, it is not ruled out that there are more affected regions.
The batch in question, according to the Aesan, is Morella porridgeOf the brand Casa Manero SL., packaged in a plastic bag with the batch number: 22022249. As for the expiration date, it is May 2023 and the weight is 400 grams.
