On Thursday, July 18, it was revealed that the popular music singer Luis Alberto Posada was hospitalized at the Clínica del Country. According to reports from the artist’s official account, the 61-year-old was admitted due to health issues stemming from a hypertensive crisis.

This caused concern among his followers, and it has already forced the artist to reschedule several live performances planned for the coming weeks. Among them is the one he was set to deliver at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá next Saturday, July 20.

This was confirmed on their official accounts by Movistar Arena itself, through a statement signed by Juan Velásquez Entretenimiento, the production company responsible for the concert.

“Due to force majeure reasons related to the health of maestro Luis Alberto Posada, the event scheduled for July 20, 2024, at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá has been rescheduled and confirmed for Friday, October 11, 2024, at the same venue,” they informed in the document.

It was also stated that the artist “was taken to the Clínica del Country in Bogotá due to anomalies in his blood pressure. Therefore, ‘The Horse of popular music’ is undergoing medical studies,” expressing their best wishes for a speedy recovery to the singer.

The statement explains that tickets already purchased will be valid for the new date, and the same previously assigned seats will be guaranteed.

Another of Posada’s performances that is in doubt is the El Ranchenato Del Año, an event that would take place at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, California (United States) next Sunday, July 21. The maestro plans to share the stage with Luis Alfonso, Jean Carlos Centeno, and Jorge Celedón, with the special guests being Billo’s Caracas Boys. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether there will be a postponement or if the event will continue without the presence of the 61-year-old artist.

In the afternoon, the artist’s team published a statement through the social media of the interpreter of The Price of Your Error, confirming that the artist suffered “a health mishap where he experienced a severe increase in blood pressure” on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17. This led to his hospitalization at the Clínica El Country in Bogotá.

After undergoing the necessary medical examinations and receiving the required treatment to stabilize his condition, the specialists advised him to rest and ordered several days of incapacity.

Thus, he was discharged from the hospital in the early hours of Thursday, July 18, but during the day, “maestro Posada showed the same symptoms again, which is why his work team had to rush him back to the clinic where he is currently”, as stated in the announcement. This worsening of his health condition was what forced the postponement of his upcoming performance in Bogotá.

Finally, from the artist’s close circle, they asked his followers and music lovers to keep him in their prayers for a speedy recovery so he can return to the stage. “Thank you for your unconditional support,” they expressed.

Reactions from users in response to the news were quick to arrive. “My Posadita, blessings, and God’s hand will recover you 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 I will keep you in my prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏”; “Speedy recovery master, Colombia loves you so much….”; “Luis Alberto Posada, may God protect you and heal you, may God place his powerful hand over your entire body and restore it,” “If that’s the case, why had everything been taken down from the ticketing page for the last 3 days???”, were some of the most notable comments.
