The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, spoke on the central news bulletin of Action 24 on Sunday evening (4/8) and referred to the issue that has arisen with the unauthorized pool at the house of Stefanos Kasselakis in Spetses.
Specifically, Mr. Georgiadis, when asked about the claims of the president of SYRIZA regarding a “water reservoir” and not a pool, stated: “All of Greece is laughing. I believe it would have been better for Mr. Kasselakis to say absolutely nothing rather than offer this excuse. A water reservoir with sunbeds and a step to get down into it, I have never seen that; if you have seen it, let me know. It’s all a comedy, it’s a regular pool.
Now, if he has obtained a water reservoir permit, which is an illegality that others have also done over there, it does not justify the leader of the main opposition.
This is a matter that will concern the competent minister. Certainly, the auditing mechanisms should not only check this but also the other illegalities there. I am just saying that the excuse that others have done these illegalities, so why not I, does not hold for a politician.
All of Twitter is in an uproar over the “gourna,” “water reservoir,” etc. I think that Mr. Kasselakis’ political leadership has received a strong blow because the talk about “incorruptibility” has gone out the window.
Regarding the post that he sees Stefanos Kasselakis leaving SYRIZA and returning to America, Mr. Georgiadis said, “since everything is going badly for him. SYRIZA is heading for a new split, Polakis is promoting himself as a leader, Kasselakis does not dare to expel him from the party, Polakis has put in his own people and they are insulting Linou; Linou is not responding, the woman, what can she say, everything is going badly, this is not a party.”
