Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that the state has started preparations for the Kovid vaccination and reserve dose for children between the ages of 15 and 18. Special arrangements will be made at the vaccination centers for the vaccination of children. Vaccinations for adults and children should not be mixed. Since children are vaccinated with the Kovid vaccine for the first time, all safety precautions should be taken. Children should be monitored before and after vaccination to ensure good health. The center said the children would be given Kovacs. About 15 lakh children fall into this category. The minister also requested that everyone in the Omicron background make sure that their children have been vaccinated.

The reserve dose will be given to health workers, senior workers and those over 60 years of age with comorbidities as per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Health. The reserve dose is given 9 months after the second dose of the vaccine.

The first dose of vaccination in the state is 98 per cent and the second dose is 78 per cent. More than 4.67 crore people have been vaccinated with one or two doses. Vaccines should be given to children who need to take the first dose and those who have had time to take the second dose before starting the vaccination. There is a stock of about 25 lakh dose vaccines in the state. After January 2, the emphasis will be on vaccinating children.
