He Ministry of Health Spanish is promoting the so-called National Plan against Antibiotic Resistance (PRAN). What is antibiotic resistance? Well, since there is an overuse of them combined with poor use, people are dying because they do not have an effect.
And the “bad” bacteria are entering our bodies and they find that, to combat them, we use other bacteria that they already know and find it easy to resist their influence, with which the infection proceeds fatally. Yes, in 2023 you can die from an infection.
Is a silent epidemic. About 4,000 people die every year in Spain as a result of infections caused by resistant bacteria, four times as many deaths as those caused by traffic accidents.
Well, one of the most dangerous groups of antimicrobials are the so-called fluoroquinolones. This is how they explain it from Health:
