Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral, who had eliminated (with a comeback) the Greek brothers Petros and Stefanos Tsitsipas, could not repeat the feat this Tuesday, against the Germans Jan Lennard Struff and Dominik Koepfer, in the round of 16 of the Olympic Games.
The Portuguese duo was seeking a historic Olympic diploma for national tennis, which would be, for now, the second for Portugal in Paris, after that obtained by cyclist Nelson Oliveira.
Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral ended up being stopped by the German pair by two sets to zero (6-2 and 6-2). In the quarter-finals, the Germans will face Australians Matthew Ebden and John Peers.
