For the second day in a row, the world recorded record heat. On Tuesday the 4th atEarth’s average temperature was 17.18°C, surpassing the mark that had been registered on Monday, 3rd, of 17.01ºC. According to data from the National Center for Environmental Prediction in the United States, the anomaly reached 0.98ºC. Excessive heat has been registered for a week and has hit different parts of the world. At least 13 people died because of the high temperatures. In Mexico, the number of victims exceeds 100 between 12 and 25 June. In Spain, thermometers exceeded 44ºC. The UK experienced the hottest June in terms of average temperature since records began, the British meteorological service said, warning that these records are likely to rise with climate change. On the last 15th, the European observation service Copernicus pointed out that the beginning of June was the hottest on record. The European summer has high temperatures due to climate change and El Niño, a natural climatic phenomenon associated with the warming of the ocean surface temperature in the central and eastern tropical Pacific, which will continue throughout the year with an “at least moderate” intensity, according to United Nations (UN).
