There will be no restrictions on the federal government’s funding for the installation of heat pumps. This was announced by a Habeck spokesman.

The Federal Ministry of Economics has assured that there will be no cuts in state subsidies for buildings next year. This was stated by a spokesman for Minister Robert Habeck (Greens). This also applies to the so-called electricity price compensation for energy-intensive companies. The subsidies will remain in full.

The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported that the volume of funding for building insulation and climate-friendly conversion of heating systems would fall by 2.4 billion euros next year. In the new budget, 14.35 billion euros are still available for these measures in the climate and transformation fund. The installation of heat pumps will also be financed from these funds.

The opposition criticises this measure. CDU energy expert Mark Helferich told the newspaper: “Either the traffic light coalition believes that people are no longer willing to participate in replacing heating systems and the heating transition. Or there is a risk of a funding freeze during the year if the funds are no longer sufficient.”

But the government gave the all-clear. Budget politicians from the traffic light coalition reported that many other funding pots were not being used up. These could then be reallocated if necessary.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Economic Affairs also told Bild that funding for buildings and companies would be continued “without any cuts next year.” Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) promised this last week and it will remain so. Habeck repeated this statement several times.
