Heatwave: 13 departments kept on orange alert

by time news

The phenomenon continues. As has been the case since the beginning of the week, France continues to be affected this Friday by the second wave of strong heat of the summer. On the other hand, the storms, sometimes violent, which hit the north of the country on Friday are over.

Thus, Météo France therefore continues to classify 13 departments in orange vigilance due to heat waves, ranging from Haute-Savoie to Hérault, via the Var. The storm alert, which concerned four northern departments on Friday (Seine-Maritime, Somme, Eure and Oise) is therefore no longer.

Still very hot nights

As the forecaster announced from the outset, this new episode of extreme heat has settled over time in France. And if it sometimes affected a very large part of the country at the start of the week, it is concentrating this Friday on a south-eastern quarter.

In the afternoon, “the maximum temperatures will generally be between 34 and 38 ° C with occasional peaks at 39/40 ° C in the departments placed in orange vigilance”, specifies Météo France. In the night from Friday to Saturday, they also once again remained very high and not very restful with still 23 to 25°C in the departments placed in orange vigilance.

The high temperatures persist until the start of the week in these regions, even if the maximum temperatures may occasionally show a slight inflection on Saturday.

Almost at the end ?

Similarly, and more generally, the heatwave episode finally seems to be coming to an end because, unlike in recent days, few departments are classified in yellow vigilance because of the heat this Saturday.

Thus, the maximum temperatures forecast range from 22 to 25 degrees near the English Channel, from 26 to 31 degrees over most regions. Minimum temperatures will range from 14 to 19 degrees in general, 11 to 13 degrees in Brittany and near the Channel, they will range from 20 to 25 degrees in the Mediterranean regions and the Rhone Valley.
