A little air. The orange heat wave vigilance, which has affected the same 14 departments since Friday, will end Monday morning at 6 a.m., Météo France announces in its daily forecast bulletin.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all the departments of Île-de-France, Eure-et-Loir, Loiret, Loir-et-Cher, Cher, Indre and Indre-et-Loire have been affected by an orange heat wave vigilance due to the extreme heat affecting the country. This alert remains valid this Sunday evening.

Risks of “temporarily strong” thunderstorms

This abnormally high heat wave for the month of September brought down numerous temperature records, particularly in several municipalities in the Ile-de-France region.

Orange vigilance ends Monday morning but temperatures will remain quite high in Île-de-France. Furthermore, Météo France is warning of the risk of potentially violent storms in the western half of the country.

“Severely strong thunderstorms (with hail, heavy rain, gusts of wind) are expected on Monday in the departments currently placed on yellow alert (thunderstorms), from New Aquitaine to Hauts de France. A worsening of the level of vigilance cannot be ruled out in certain departments,” writes Météo France in its bulletin, which says it is following the evolution of the situation carefully.
