(Cultural lives here) The Israeli Vocal Ensemble, accompanied by the Barocada Orchestra, performed last Saturday in front of the Haifa audience in a program that consisted entirely of music by Johann Sebastian Bach (the father). This fine concert took place in the “Mar Elias Cathedral” located on Ein Dor Street in Haifa.

Elite culture, literally

As a native of Tel Aviv and as a “new immigrant in Haifa” (wow, two and a half years!) – I must point out that whoever dares to say that there is no elite culture here, is simply sinning and making a mistake and in fact is spreading bad and vain slander.

Baroque in Israel

The “Barocada” is an ensemble founded in 2007 by a group of solo musicians who studied at prestigious early music academies abroad, and who returned to Israel to form an authentic baroque orchestra in Israel. Among the members of this orchestra are instrument builders who specialize in building period instruments.

like then

Just as was customary in the Baroque period, the ensemble works without a conductor. That is, each player has his own voice, and the music is an organic product of a fertile dialogue between the players. Furthermore, it is a kind of collective where the musical and administrative decisions are made by the members of the entire group. It should be noted that they do perform music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods – but they also play music from other and different periods.

“Crescendo to Love” on 2/12/22

For those interested, the next event of the “Israeli Vocal Ensemble” is scheduled to take place in the same place, on 2/12/22 in an entirely a cappella program, and its theme will be the crooked ways of love, which also includes disappointments, betrayals and even humor… in short: “Crescendo to Love”.

For my friend, also in the following shows – the exciting experience and the upliftment of the spirit is guaranteed.
