Heavy checks among expatriate drivers, over 1,000 violators’ driving licenses revoked so far – NEWS 360 – GULF

Kuwait City: Kuwait with strict checks to find irregularities in driving license of expatriates. It is reported that the General Traffic Department has revoked 1000 driving licenses of non-residents in the last 40 days.

According to statistics, 23 driving licenses are revoked daily for violation of the law. Officials said the licenses were revoked due to non-compliance with conditions for obtaining licenses such as salary, university degree and employment.

The driving license of expatriates is being checked as per the instructions of Sheikh Talal Al Khalid, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Patrol teams of the Traffic Department have been instructed to arrest non-residents driving after license withdrawal and deport them for violating the country’s law. By law, expatriates cannot drive in Kuwait without a driver’s license. Also you cannot drive with a revoked driving license. Kuwait is set to implement stricter restrictions on expatriate ownership of vehicles. According to this plan, from next year, non-residents will be prohibited by law from owning multiple vehicles.
