A few weeks ago, a new Mean Girls premiered in the USA, one of the most iconic films of a generation in this century, which had good current actresses in its cast.
In this new installment, again written and produced by the also iconic Tina Fey, the result is clearly far from what was desired. In Argentina it started last Thursday and only attracted 11,120 spectators in the four days measured.
In the United States it premiered on the second Friday of the year and in its first weekend it totaled 28 million dollars in the first three days, but with the cumulative total it was only 66 million, so possibly with what it adds in the world does not exceed 100 million, something that could be expected due to the noise it made previously.
How much did the original make? It’s almost relative to know, because a film like that is like a Zoolander, which at the time didn’t do much in the cinema but which on cable and streaming became part of the entire history of pop culture cinema. This sequel or remake or whatever, will not remain in history, nor did Zoolander 2… although there with a 100% original cast 😉
