Heavy Rain in Oman: Rescue of flood victims in Oman

Muscat: The Civil Defense Force rescued three people trapped in a flood. The incident took place in the southern Batina governorate of Oman. Rescue workers rescued flood victims in Wadi.

Wadi al-Salaha, three people trapped in the Barkha district, were rescued by civil defense forces in the southern Al Batina governorate. The health condition of the three is satisfactory, according to a statement issued by the Civil Defense Authority. According to the Met Office, the rains will continue till Wednesday. Authorities have asked plaintiffs not to cross and to stay away from low-lying areas.

Heavy rain expected in Oman until Wednesday

Muscat: Heavy rains are expected in many parts of the country as the low pressure area in the Arabian Sea moves towards the coast of Oman. The Oman Meteorological Agency said there was a possibility of thundershowers in Musandam Governorate, North Al Batina, South Al Batina, Muscat, South Al Sharqia, North Sharqia Baremi, Dakhilia and Dahira until Wednesday.

The waves are expected to be two to three meters high and the sea is likely to be turbulent. Authorities have warned motorists to be careful as there is a risk of dust storms in the desert and open areas due to strong winds. Authorities have asked plaintiffs not to cross and to stay away from low-lying areas.
