Riyadh: Heavy damage in various parts of Riyadh due to yesterday’s rain. Many vehicles were stuck in water. The Saudi Meteorological Department has warned that unexpected rain is expected in Riyadh and Dammam.
Rain came in Riyadh yesterday evening along with heavy wind. The roof of a petrol station collapsed in Durma, Riyadh. The rainfall was different in each part. Many of the low-lying areas were submerged by the inundated rainwater. Many valleys were filled with rain that lasted for about an hour. The rain cooled Riyadh and parts of the Eastern Province, where temperatures reached close to 50 degrees. Temperatures may rise above 48 again by Friday, according to the Met Office.
