After a dry and warmer than usual period, cold air is expected to penetrate from Eastern Europe directly towards our regions, which will cause a sharp change in the weather, and the final arrival of General Winter in our regions.
On Monday (tomorrow), it will be partly cloudy, during the day it will start to rain locally in the north of the country. Towards night the rain will strengthen and gradually spread to the center of the country.
On Tuesday, heavy rains are expected to fall in the north of the country and in the center, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind. There is a fear of flooding in places along the coastal plain and in the lowlands.
During the day, rain is expected in the north of the Negev and there is a fear of floods in the east of Israel and the Negev. There will be a significant drop in temperatures and heavy snow is expected in Hermon.
On Wednesday, it will continue to be rainy and windy from the north of the country to the Negev. Due to the expectation of heavy rains, there is still a fear of flooding in the affected areas. It will be colder than usual and it will continue to snow in Hermon.
On Thursday, the winter system is expected to weaken significantly. Light localized rain is still possible. The temperatures will rise slightly but it will still be cold.
It should be noted that in this rain episode, amounts of 100 mm are expected to fall, and possibly even more, in the north and center of the country, which will improve the rainfall balance so far.
