The water levels of the Danube and Inn are already rising there. The promenade and parking lots have already been flooded, the police are towing cars that have not been parked despite the severe weather warning.

And the situation is still critical: residents are installing flood barriers on their properties, roads are being blocked. It is expected that the Danube will exceed the eight meter mark.

The German Weather Service calculates with the maximum values ​​at night. The highest reporting level four could be reached, currently level three. Means: There can be major floods!

Strong storms in Bavaria

It rained heavily in the Alpine region, from Innsbruck via the Berchtesgadener Land to the Lower Austrian Pre-Alps, up to 80 liters per square meter have already come down. On Sunday, however, the full extent of the flood became apparent in the Berchtesgadener Land district: 890 helpers were deployed in the areas particularly affected.

The main routes to Berchtesgaden are currently open again, only a few side streets are closed. The entire southern valley is affected, the focus is on Berchtesgaden, Marktschellenberg, Bischofswiesen and Schönau am Königssee. In Schönau, am Grünau, there is currently still earth movement, i.e. mudslides. Otherwise there are reports of damage events in the entire valley area.
