The NFL’s Buffalo Bills announced the release of player Matt Ariza, just days after he was accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl during a college party.

In a joint statement by the team’s general manager, Brandon Bean, and coach Sean McDermott, it was stated that the 22-year-old Ariza “needs to focus on the allegations,” and if they turn out to be true, “his remaining on the team is simply irrelevant.”
