After being accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl: the football player was released from his team

The NFL’s Buffalo Bills announced the release of player Matt Ariza, just days after he was accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl during a college party.

In a joint statement by the team’s general manager, Brandon Bean, and coach Sean McDermott, it was stated that the 22-year-old Ariza “needs to focus on the allegations,” and if they turn out to be true, “his remaining on the team is simply irrelevant.”
As a reminder, last week a civil lawsuit was filed against the player, alleging that he and two of his college teammates Xavier Lanaord and Nevelyn Aveliko, Enso a 17-year-old girl at a party held between October 16 and 17, 2021: “Ariza gave the girl a drink that contained alcohol and some kind of drug, and after Then he picked her up, took her to bed. The three defendants raped her one after the other,” it said.
It was also written: “The players filmed the gang rape, which lasted about an hour and a half, and when they finished, she left the room crying and bleeding.”
