After four years in which he did not appear on the screen, the beloved actor Jeff Bridges (“Mad Heart”, “The Big Lebowski”, “Real Courage”, and more) is making a comeback in a big way, with a new series from Disney Plus called “The Old Man “. The 72-year-old veteran actor, as mentioned, has been absent in recent years, following cancer and then a severe case of Corona.
He made his big break in 1971 with the film “The Last Cinema Show”, and from there the rest is history. “I like to see the process I went through over the years. It reminds me of all the changes I’ve gone through. Already five decades ago I started documenting everything with a camera. It’s nice to see how I age on screen,’ he said.
In the first and intimate interview that follows the new series, Bridges says that “The Old Man” is, as one would expect, a series about aging. “For me, this is a series about consequences. consequences for actions. When we grow up, we discover that the decisions we made in the past, in order to realize one or another desire, were not always the right way,’ he said.
“At a later age, we try to come to terms with it. In the end the realization that you can’t really know where your decisions will lead you is absolute. Life is full of surprises, both in life itself and in the series. And that’s great,” he concluded.
