Harry and Meghan’s 2021 foundation tax filings were released to the public last month, revealing the royal couple spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on strategic PR consulting. A little over $215,000 was transferred to a company that specializes in social and cultural impact and offers a wide range of services related to public relations.
But what drew attention was the $110,000 paid to a public relations agency when the leader of this organization is none other than Katie McCormick-Lewald, who is directly related to the Obama couple. She was Michelle Obama’s spokesperson for a while, and worked officially for the former first lady from 2007 to 2011. She has also provided PR work for Hillary Clinton in the past, as well as John Kerry – both highly political figures.
The official purpose for which Harry and Meghan’s foundation used her services is “strategic public relations support for social impact”.
