American presenter Katie Couric reveals for the first time: “I am dealing with breast cancer”

The well-known presenter Katie Couric is one of the most well-known and beloved TV women on American television, appearing on the screen regularly for the past three decades. Now, in a new interview, she reveals for the first time that she was diagnosed with cancer, and these days she is undergoing radiation.
“Cancer awareness month is approaching, that’s why I chose to share my personal story, and encourage all women to go get checked, and realize that maybe they need more than a mammogram,” she said. The well-known 65-year-old waitress says that there are many cases of cancer in her family, so she was not very surprised.
‘I found it out on my wedding day. I was shocked, I was nauseous and the whole room started spinning,’ she said. She also added and said that at the beginning of the month she started radiation treatments, this after undergoing emergency surgery. As you know, Couric’s first husband died of colon cancer at the age of only 42. In addition, she died of the disease at the age of 54.
“Given my family history, I realized it was probably inevitable,” she concluded. Over the years, Couric has worked for the largest and most recognized networks across the United States, including CNN, CBS and NBC. Her most memorable role is as a presenter of a morning show, which she hosted for 15 years.
