Anti-capitalist satire: the big winner of the Cannes Film Festival

Did you like the white lotus? Looking forward to the second season? “Triangle of Sorrows” is the movie stamp for you. After receiving the Palme d’Or award, “Triangle of Sorrows” is undoubtedly the most interesting film now and there are quite a few reasons for that

“Triangle of Sorrows” by the Swedish director Ruben Ostlund became the most talked about film this month, even though it is not a perfect masterpiece. The reason? A variety of unforgettable scenes, sharp criticism, courage, and great actors. At the center of the plot is Carl, a young and handsome model, but in the fashion and modeling industry he is already considered almost too old.

His partner is also a model, only she is at the right age and at the right time, or in other words, extremely successful, which pours quite a bit of tension and competition into their relationship. Most of the film, which spans 152 minutes, takes place on a luxury ship carrying dozens of rich people, as well as our two heroes.

In this part of the film, it is hard not to recall the masterful series ‘The White Lotus’ which criticizes capitalism, masters and servants particularly harshly. So does “Of the Three Sorrows”, and it manages to deliver the goods through excellent dramatic scenes and quite a few confrontations between the other characters on the ship.

Ruben is not afraid to confront his viewers with moments that do not easily go down the throat, and this is one of the strengths of the film. If you liked “The White Lotus” and you can’t wait for the second season which is coming very soon (at the end of this month), “Triangle of Sadness” can definitely satisfy you, even if for a short time.
