If you’re a bit tired of watching TV and constantly looking for a new series to get addicted to, this is exactly the moment to take a short break and dedicate yourself to a good book. The good news is that there are quite a few of them, here is a short list of four of them.

Fairy Tale / Stephen King

One of today’s greatest writers in a new book called Fairy Tale, which deals with a 17-year-old boy who receives keys to a parallel world where good and evil are at war. The plot follows Charlie who looks like a normal high school student, but when he was seven years old his mother was killed in a hit and run accident, which led his father to alcoholism. Over the years, Charlie learned to take care of himself and his father. One day he meets a lonely old man in a big and mysterious house on top of a hill. They become friends a little, and when the man dies he leaves Charlie a tape that tells him about a gateway to another world. From here, Charlie and the old man’s dog, who stayed late, go on a journey to a parallel and mysterious world.

The Years / Annie Arno

The book of Annie Arnaud, the recent Nobel laureate, one of the most important prizes in the world. It is about One of her most successful books, presenting Arno’s personal story beginning in 1941 and continuing until 2006. It includes memories of the past and present and even glimpses into the future. The plot also includes mentions and stories about The Beatles, the Iraq War and the Twin Disasters, all told from the speaker’s point of view. Arno’s intimate and special writing is the one that truly captivates. Definitely worth a read.

Wrong Place Wrong Time / Gillian McAllister

The book tells the story of Jen, the mother of 17-year-old Todd. one night As she waits for him, she sees him from the window and realizes that he is not alone, but walking towards a man who is armed. She doesn’t know how her funny and happy son is suddenly in custody after he killed a stranger. The writer said in one of the interviews that the inspiration for the book came from the Netflix series “Russian Doll”. This also happens in the book – after the heroine falls asleep, she wakes up the day after the exact same day. From here begins her journey to prevent the tragic event and to understand what exactly happened there behind the scenes.

The Marriage Portrait / Maggie O’Ferrell

A historical novel that takes place during the Renaissance in Italy. At the center of the story is Lucrezia, the daughter of Cosimo I de’ Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany – a young girl with big dreams, who mysteriously passed away when she was only 16 years old. Lucrezia’s life gets complicated when her older sister dies on the eve of her wedding and therefore she is pushed into married life without asking. Her deceased sister’s fiance rushes to ask for her hand in marriage, and her father accepts the proposal on her behalf.

Her new husband is a mysterious man, with a strange character, when Lucretia tries to deal with the questions of whether he is a sophisticated, kind man or rather a ruthless man.
