One year and three months after that fateful evening in Knosha, Kyle Rittenhaus is acquitted by a Wisconsin court. After more than four days of hearings, the jury handed down the decision earlier this morning

A Wisconsin court has acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse, a young man charged with double murder following the fatal shooting incident in which he was involved last year in the town of Knosha.

The media trial came to an end earlier this morning (Friday), when the jury informed the court that the decision had been made.

The indictment counts were read by the court clerk, and after each of them the jury’s verdict was handed down: “Not guilty.” The 18-year-old Rittenhaus burst into tears following the decision.

Rittenhouse turned himself in to police on August 26, 2020, a day after shooting three people in the city of Knosha, about 80 miles north of Chicago. Blake, who was shot in the back at least 7 times by police.

Rittenhouse, then 17, came to Knosha from his home in Illinois – he claimed to help maintain businesses in the city where arson and mass looting were reported.

Now, jurors have ruled that Rittenhouse acted in self-defense.
