The new film about the life of the singer and star required no less than 14 producers and it provides a glimpse into Houston’s complex life, the dramatic relationships, the marriage with Bobby Brown and the musical path she took over the years
The one who took on the almost impossible role of stepping into Whitney Houston’s shoes is British actress Naomi Aki, and it’s important to say this at the outset – she does a pretty good job at all. As mentioned, the film reviews Whitney’s life from the church days, the first signing with record producer Clive Davis, her position as a successful singer in the eighties and nineties, and of course the marriage to Bobby Rishon.
The film had 14 responsible producers and 10 additional producers. It can be concluded from this that this is one of the most serious and complex productions of recent years, and this is not surprising given the complex and dramatic life of the singer. Precisely regarding the star’s drug problems, the film devoted only a little time, even though the drugs destroyed her voice, appearance, and finally her entire career.
However, the film reveals that Houston’s last 14 years have actually been a slow and safe decline, which has included going in and out of rehabs, when the end seems to have been foregone. In conclusion, it can be seen that this is a must-watch among Houston fans, and in general, among anyone who finds interest in the lives of great and one-time stars, just like Whitney Houston herself.
