“Get out of jail and disappear”: An extensive manhunt for a warden and a prisoner suspected of murder

Police investigators can not say for sure, but the prevailing opinion is that the warden helped the prisoner escape from prison last Friday when she claimed she was taking him for examination in court. For many hours no one noticed that the two had disappeared

The U.S. Marshal Service is offering a $ 10,000 cash prize in exchange for information leading to the locating of an inmate and a warden who disappeared from an Alabama prison last Friday.

At this point, law enforcement authorities are unable to say with certainty whether the jailer, who was defined as “missing and at risk,” helped the inmate escape.

The affair began last Friday in Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama. Casey White, 38, who is serving a prison sentence following his conviction for violent burglary and car hijacking and is even awaiting trial for murder, has been released from prison by a jailer.

The warden, Vicky White (no family connection to the inmate), was released from jail last Friday at 9:41 p.m. She said she intends to take the prisoner to the local court, where he was supposed to undergo a psychiatric examination.

Less than two hours later, at 11:00 a.m., the vehicle belonging to the jail was located at a nearby shopping center. But it was only at 3:30 pm that the prison staff realized that the prisoner had disappeared and no one was able to catch the warden.

Now, the sheriff’s office is trying to figure out if Warden White helped inmate White escape from prison. According to Rick Singleton, the county sheriff, the warden was armed with a 9mm pistol at the time of the incident, and so at this point Prisoner White is defined as “armed and dangerous”:

According to Singleton, as early as late Friday afternoon it became clear that no psychiatric examination had been conducted for the inmate. In addition, the sheriff noted that Warden White’s decision to take the inmate in the vehicle alone was “contrary to the directives” of law enforcement.

“This is a person accused of murder. There is no doubt that such a person should receive at least two escorts when he leaves the prison,” the sheriff explained, adding, “We are examining all possible directions of investigation. Did she help him escape? “Was she abducted and taken against her will? This is both a possibility and an examination.”

Earlier today (Monday) it was reported that Warden White was defined as “wanted for questioning” – a sign that law enforcement officials apparently believe she helped the inmate escape.

Meanwhile, as mentioned, the Marshals service is offering $ 10,000 in exchange for information that will lead to the capture of the two.
