“He dies of a broken heart”: Two days after his wife was murdered in Texas, her husband died of a heart attack at age 50

Terrible tragedy in Garcia’s family of six, mother murdered while trying to protect children in class at Rob’s elementary school, grief-stricken father dies two days later of heart attack at age 50 only, leaving behind four orphans

The grief-stricken husband of a fourth-grade teacher who was killed in a massacre at Rob Elementary School in Ovalda, Texas, died of a heart attack just two days after the mass shooting, the family said Thursday.

Joe Garcia died about two days after the shooting at Rob Elementary School, which killed 19 children and two teachers – including his 24-year-old wife, Irma Garcia, her nephew said on Twitter.

“It hurts a lot and it comes to us with deep sorrow to say that Aunt Irma’s husband, Joe Garcia, has died due to mourning,” the nephew said.

“I’m really at a loss for how we all feel. Please pray for our family. God have mercy on us. It’s not easy.”

“The pain does not stop,” he added, minutes later. Family members did confirm to Fox-26 that the cause of death was a heart attack.

Irma Garcia, 46, taught alongside Eva Mirles, who was also killed by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos in a shooting in the town of Evelde, near the U.S. border with Mexico.

The teachers were reportedly killed in an attempt to protect the children from the shooter. And one of the children in the class even said that the teachers hugged and tried to do as much as they could to save the children in front of the shooter but to no avail.

In Irma’s school profile she told about herself that she enjoys going out for a barbecue with her husband and listening to music.

Creepily the Garcia couple leave behind four orphaned children who have lost their mother and father two days apart.
