A special US intelligence report states: “Iran plans to assassinate Donald Trump, and Mike Pompeo”
Tehran seeks revenge on architects behind the assassination of Qassem Suleimani about two and a half years ago, according to a report by the U.S. government’s counterterrorism unit
Iran seeks to assassinate former President Donald Trump and his secretary of state Mike Pompeo in retaliation for the assassination of Iranian commander Qassem Suleimani, according to a report by the National Counter-Terrorism Center released last night.
The report states that Iran is “conducting a multi-directional campaign against selected American officials,” including threats of legal proceedings, international legal maneuvers, arrest warrants and sanctions.
“Since January 2021, Tehran has publicly expressed a willingness to conduct lethal operations within the United States and has consistently identified President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former General Kenneth McKenzie as targets and preferred targets for retaliation,” the leaked report reveals As reported in Yahoo News.
According to the report, Iran will see the assassination of the former US president and other senior US officials “responsible for Suleimani’s death as successful retaliation,” the report said.
As commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Suleimani is considered the most powerful military official in Iran. It has had a huge impact throughout the Gulf region and beyond, and is considered a key factor in establishing and deepening ties between Tehran and the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah.
Suleimani, who was one of the founders of the Iranian front in the Golan Heights and one of the senior Iranian figures who helped establish Shiite armies in Iraq, was killed in an attack on a U.S. drone in the early morning hours of January 3, 2020 on the way out of Baghdad airport.
The assassination occurred when Revolutionary Guardsmen began their official visit to the Iranian embassy in Baghdad.
The assassination was also carried out in Iraq with the aim of signaling the ayatollahs to stop trying to take over the war-torn Iraq.
