Officially: Corona check required before flights to US
The new policy went into effect near midnight (Saturday through Sunday), just days after the initial announcement by the CDC leaders. The requirement to introduce a negative corona test before international flights to the United States was officially lifted during the night (Saturday and Sunday), thus aligning the US with most countries in the world where the restriction has already been lifted.

Recall, in early 2021 the federal government – then headed by former President Trump – announced that it would require all passengers on flights to the U.S. to present a negative corona test performed up to 72 hours before the departure date.
Later, with the entry into President Biden’s White House, the requirement was slightly changed and passengers were required to present a negative check performed up to one day before the flight.
As we reported last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended repealing this policy en masse, and so it happened last night at 12:01 p.m. (East Coast time, 9:01 p.m. on the West Coast). That is, as of now no passenger is required to present a Corona test before boarding a flight to the United States.
It is worth noting that the change will not affect the land border crossings of the United States, as the requirement has already been eliminated for travelers entering the country through them.
