Sudden death in Hollywood: Jewish film producer Zac Estrin passed away at the age of 51

A great loss for the man who was responsible for such classics as ‘Dawson’s Creek’, ‘The Runaways’, ‘Bewitched’ and ‘Lost in Space’ – it seems that the heart of the doppelganger producer and screenwriter who just signed a long-term contract with Netflix died prematurely during a routine run on Beach in California – “His vision and passion will be sorely missed”

The television producerZac Estrin,I recently restarted the science fiction series“Lost in space”.From the 1960s for Netflix, he passed away at the age of only fifty-one.

The sudden death of a producer and screenwriter Runaways’, ‘Bewitched’, ‘Dawson’s Creek’, and ‘Race to Yesterday’ sent shock waves throughout Hollywood, as the producer and screenwriter was apparently in excellent health before his passing.

According to reports, Estrin passed away as a result of a heart attack he suffered while going for a routine jog in California’s Hermosa Beach.

However, as of now this is speculation, as the results of the post-mortem have not yet been released.

The tragic incident occurred on Friday, September 23, and his grieving family confirmed his passing in a statement that read;

“Zach Estrin was everything to us. The best husband, father, son and friend. He loved to make everyone happy. He loved to make everyone laugh. He loved being a writer/producer and being a part of creating these shows that people enjoyed. But most of all, he loved His family and friends. Thank you all for being a part of his life and ours.”

Veteran talent agency WME also confirmed the death of the screenwriter-producer: “Zach was a client of ours for almost 25 years,” said WME president,Ari Greenberg‏.

“He had a very successful career and mentored so many writers. We are so proud of all his achievements and feel blessed to have called him a friend.”

Next in line wasescape’which became one of the most popular prime time programs in history.

He wrote and produced the show before becoming a co-producer alongsideMatt Olmsted‏ ‏And Don Faroz‏.

Until his untimely death, Estrin worked alongside Olmsted to revive Runaways with a spin-off called‏Prison Break: Cherry Hill‏‏.

Estrin was a big part of the success of ‘Runaways’, recalled his colleague Olmsted who described him as “an amazing writer, equally gifted in dialogue and structure”.

“What made him a great partner was that he attracted the right people. Writers wanted to work with him and give him their best. Managers loved him as much as assistant writers. He was a unifier,” Olmsted said.

Most recently, Estrin served as producer and executive producer ofthe series “lost in space“‏of Netflix, which ran for three seasons between 2018 and 2021.

Estrin had an overall deal with Netflix that included future development of additional shows until his sudden death.

“Zach was a beloved screenwriter, producer and partner, whose work taught us to seek adventure and trust in family. His vision and passion will be sorely missed,” said Netflix’s VP of series, ‏Matt Thunell‏.‏
