The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns againstA possible renewed outbreak ofThe monkey pox, in preparation for the summer gatherings.

“The spring and summer season of 2023 could lead to a resurgence of monkeypox as people gather for festivals and other events,” the CDC alert issued Monday said.

The agency revealed that 12 confirmed and one probable case of mpox was reported in the Chicago area between April 17 and May 5.

None of the patients were hospitalized – they were all men

Nine of the 13 patients received two doses of the JYNNEOS vaccine, which is designed to prevent smallpox and monkeypox in adults.
