“Twitter is a Shame on Democracy”: Trump responds to Representative Green’s blocking of social networking

The former president, who is intimately acquainted with the platform’s control over freedom of expression, backed the Republican representative and said in a statement: “They have a point of view only of a radical left”

Former President Donald Trump attacked the social media platform Twitter, after it permanently blocked his party member, Representative Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia, due to disseminating misinformation about the Corona plague.

“Twitter is a disgrace to democracy,” the 45th president said in a statement, which he himself was permanently blocked about a year ago. “They must not be allowed to do business in this country.”

“Marjorie Taylor Green has a huge constituency of honest, patriotic and hardworking people. They don’t deserve what happens to them on platforms like Twitter and lifeless Facebook,” Trump added. Shortly after being permanently blocked, Green received a 24-hour suspension from Facebook.

“Everyone needs to leave Twitter and Facebook. They are boring, they have only a radical leftist point of view, and they are hated by everyone. They are a disgrace to our nation. Keep fighting, Marjorie!”, Trump concluded.

As you may recall, about three days ago the Republican representative’s personal account was permanently blocked, and a statement by Twitter explained: “We have permanently suspended the account due to repeated violations of our corona misinformation policy.”

In response, Green referred to the social platform as “the enemy of the people.” “Twitter is the enemy of America, and it can not face the truth,” she wrote, adding that she would show America that “we do not need them, and it is time to defeat our enemies.”

“They can not successfully complete the communist revolution when people tell the truth. The democrats and the communist can not stop the truth. I stand with the truth and with the people. We will overcome!”, She said.

Many Republicans came out in Green’s defense, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (California), who accused the social media giant of silencing Americans and violating freedom of expression. “Their decision to silence Americans – including an incumbent congressman and renowned doctors – who share differing views from the political and media elite, has real prices in the world,” he said in a statement. “In fact, as we get more information about the virus, it is clear that many of the views previously condemned by the political elite turn out to be correct.”

He added that “at the other end of the spectrum, Americans on the political left, including popular news presenters, members of Congress and even the Vice President, have themselves made public remarks that are now universally understood as false. America”.
