by time news

Nine years have passed since the passing of the singer and composer Eric Einstein, who is considered by many to be the greatest singer the State of Israel has known throughout its years. With many hits that will forever be assets of the Iron Sheep in the Israeli soundtrack, Einstein reached every home and age in the country. In his memory, 103fm’s music editor Yoav Hanani has compiled his best works.

Einstein began his musical career during his military service in the Nahal band, where his talent and unique voice stood out in the songs ‘Ya Yarah’ and ‘Dina Barzilai’. In 1960, Einstein released his first solo mini-album. Also, in the same year, the talented singer joined the band ‘Bezal Yerok’ .

In 1963, Einstein, Yohorm Gaon and Benny Amdorski created the band ‘Gesher Yarkon Trio’, and many of the band’s songs became hits, including: ‘A night on the Akziv beach’, ‘If you only come at five’, ‘The love of the construction workers’, ‘When a light is on in your window’, ‘Sardana to you’ and ‘What a beautiful day’.

In April 1967, together with Shmulik Krauss and Josie Katz, he released one of the seminal albums in Israeli music under the name ‘The High Windows’, which included many hits, including: ‘Zemar Noga’ (my voice was heard), ‘All the week for you’ and ‘You can’t’.

Towards the end of the decade, Einstein became friends with Shalom Hanoch, and their musical collaboration led to a number of albums, including ‘Mazel Gedi’ published in 1968, which included, among others, the songs, ‘Spirit of Spirit’ and ‘What was there was’. Later, the album ‘Pozzi’ was released, which contains the songs ‘Prague’ and ‘When you cry, you are not beautiful’.

In 1970, the album Snail was released, many of whose songs became hits, including: ‘Why should I take you to my heart’, ‘What do you do when you get up in the morning’, and ‘Take a woman to you’.

During his career, Einstein teamed up with many musicians whose talent he could recognize from afar, among them: Miki Gavrialov, with whom he created the albums ‘Go Slow’, ‘Armed with Glasses’, ‘Loves to be at Home’ and ‘On the Edge of Light’. Yoni Rechter, with whom he created the albums ‘He loved many faces,’ ‘Abraham Halfi’s songs’ and ‘I was once a child’. With Yitzhak Kleftar he released the albums ‘Sitting on the fence’ and ‘Shabir’. With Shem Tov Levy, the albums ‘Pasak Zeman’ and ‘Tosherat Ha’aretz’ and ‘Ish Bi Ahava’.

From the beginning of his career until his death, Einstein embraced dozens of albums full of his musical talent and accompanied by hundreds of songs that were enshrined in the history of Israeli culture. In a special edition in his memory, the editor of “Shabbat Hebrew” Yoav Hanani collected the best works of Einstein, with great nostalgia for the singer and the creator responsible for hundreds of classics in the Hebrew singer. Pleasant listening!
