Are German TV channels and their pop shows suffering from a lack of celebrities? Singer Heino is making people sit up and take notice with his statements about the industry – and Oliver Pocher is happy about it.

In a recent podcast by Oliver Pocher and Alessandra Meyer-Wölden, pop singer Heino talks about his reticence when it comes to TV appearances. In the episode of the podcast “Die Pochers: Frisch recycled” the 85-year-old openly explains why he is rarely seen on well-known pop shows such as those hosted by Florian Silbereisen or Giovanni Zarrella.

Heino made it clear that these TV shows do not provide him with any financial incentives. “I no longer feel like being on the road for three days for 500 euros,” said the singer. He also stressed that things are not always harmonious among artists in the pop world and that the financial distribution is often unfair.

Oliver Pocher also took this as an opportunity to criticize the production conditions of such shows. Pocher speculated that the money often ends up with the presenters and production companies.

The singer’s statements shed light on the financial and social dynamics behind the scenes of major TV hit shows and could explain why experienced artists like Heino appear less often in such formats. In the past, other big names in the field, such as Matthias Reim, Roland Kaiser and Roberto Blanco, have also indicated that they no longer want to appear on ZDF’s “Fernsehgarten” because of the poor pay.
