Star chef Heinz Winkler († 73) fell in front of his star restaurant “Residenz” in Aschau on Thursday evening and died on Saturday night of multiple organ failure in the hospital (BILD reported). A misfortune as it can happen…
“Sandro encouraged Heinz to drink”
But now more and more strange details are coming to light. According to BILD information, the cook Sandro B. (29, name changed), who was not assigned to work, unexpectedly appeared in Winkler’s restaurant on Thursday evening. At around 6:30 p.m., Winkler and B. opened the first bottle of wine.
After that there was more drinking. An employee who was there told BILD: “Sandro encouraged Heinz to drink.”

►Winkler had a lot to talk about. The divorce from his third wife Daniela Hain is said to have been in the room. The couple (married since October 2018) had a heated argument during the week, most recently on Wednesday. It should have been about the divorce settlement. Winkler wanted to leave Aschau. Wanted to start a new life abroad with his young lover.

By 9 p.m., Winkler was heavily intoxicated. Sandro B. offered to drive him home in Winkler’s car. Only Sandro B. knows what happened next. Shortly after Winkler and he left the restaurant, Sandro B. came back and yelled: “Heinz fell.” The emergency doctor was alerted. Sandro B. had blood on his clothes.

Sandro B. is a controversial personality. In the kitchen he is said to have caused a rough tone.
Now the police are investigating. A spokeswoman for the police headquarters in Oberbayern Süd told BILD: “We are conducting a death investigation.”
Winkler’s family banned widow Daniela Hain from the “Residence” on Saturday.
