New Delhi: There is a book containing security details of the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and Home Minister. This is called the ‘Blue Book’. This is a very secret book. The officers who provide security for VVIPs will act in accordance with the rules contained in this book.
Recently, the Commander-in-Chief of the 3rd Battalion, Pipin Rawat, was martyred in a helicopter crash near Kunnur in Tamil Nadu. This came as a shock to senior officials overseeing security matters in Delhi.
In the aftermath of this accident, all the departmental officers who look after the safety of the VVIPs have come together and made some important changes in this Blue Book. ‘ Avoid helicopter travel. It’s better to have any event near airports’, new rules have been added to this book.
Security officials also said that more than one senior official should not travel together.
