A helicopter that left São Paulo bound for Ilhabela has been missing since Sunday night (31). The aircraft took off from Campo de Marte Airport, in the northern region of São Paulo, at 1:15 pm. In the helicopter were the pilot and three passengers, including Luciana Rodzewics, 45 years old, her daughter Letícia Ayumi Rodzewics, 20 years old, and a family friend, Rafael Torres.

The Military Police (PM) and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) began searching for the aircraft in the North Coast region of the state this Monday (1st). Operations were interrupted in the early evening and were expected to resume on Tuesday, according to the FAB. The search began hours after the helicopter lost contact with the control towers, around 10:30 pm on Sunday.

“The flights lasted throughout the day. To date, the aircraft has not been located,” the Brazilian Air Force said in a statement.

Family members confirmed the identity of the passengers, highlighting that Rafael Torres is a friend of the aircraft’s pilot and invited the group to join the tour. On social media, Luciana Rodzewics shared a video of the takeoff, showing the cloudy sky over São Paulo and the passengers inside the helicopter.

So far, the aircraft has not been located, and a military aircraft will be called in again to continue the search in the early hours of Tuesday, as reported by the Brazilian Air Force.
