During the festive season, people from the surrounding areas of Trichy usually gather in large numbers to buy clothes and jewellery. In this way, many people gathered in the area yesterday ahead of this year’s Diwali and bought the things they needed. In this environment, two people loaded a helium cylinder on a two-wheeler in front of a private textile shop and started selling balloons. They also used a helium cylinder to inflate the balloon.
Unexpectedly, the helium cylinder exploded at exactly 8.10 pm. A person who was walking on the road collapsed and died on the spot. More than 10 people escaped with minor injuries. There was no loss of life and damage to property. A new auto and 4 two-wheelers were damaged in the accident. Mansoor, an auto driver from Trichy Varaganeri, narrowly escaped with his life after stopping the auto and going to buy rent.
After getting the information, the police arrived at the spot and started a thorough investigation. In the first phase of their investigation, it was revealed that the person who died in the accident was Ravikumar, a resident of Karatan forest area near Chinna Tarapuram in Karur district. He is believed to be between 22 and 35 years old.
