Tomer Hemed scored today (Sunday) for the first time in two and a half months, but was unable to help Western Sydney Wonders who lost 3: 2 to Western United. The striker started in the team, scored with a penalty after the opponent already led 0: 2 and was replaced after 68 minutes in what raised his balance to three goals from the beginning of the season.
After beating Melbourne Victory 0-2 in the middle of the week, Western Sydney went down by half with a double lag. It happened after Alexander Priovic scored with a great bounce (27) and then put in a great ball for Ben Garuccio who set up the half-time score in extra time.
Six minutes after the break, Tomoki Imayi from Western Sydney touched the ball with his hand in the box, Western Sydney got a penalty and Hemed did not fail from the penalty spot. The Israeli striker still managed to miss twice and then Garuccio completed a pair with a big goal in the heel while falling, 1: 3 in the 68th minute.
Western Sydney still managed to shrink with a goal by Steven Ugarkovich with an accurate kick from outside the box (86), but no more than that. After the loss, Hemed and his teammates are in eighth place (out of 12) with 12 points, while Western United are first with 23 points.
