The ‘Hemohim Academic Forum’, hosted by the Korean Holistic Care Society and Kolmar B&H, was held at Chosun Palace in Seoul on the 20th. This event was prepared to reexamine HemoHIM’s development background and achievements and discuss the possibility of K-Health’s global expansion.
In the first session, HemoHIM developer Dr. Cho Seong-gi (former permanent researcher at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and honorary chairman of Holistic Care) stood on the podium and looked back on the beginning. Dr. Cho said, “Hemohim was developed based on traditional herbal medicines such as angelica root, angelica root, and peony to satisfy all three effects of restoring immune function, suppressing tissue damage, and protecting the hematopoietic system.”
He then emphasized the value of HemoHIM, saying, “We demonstrated immune cell activation through a scientific approach differentiated from existing health functional foods, and were recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as the first individually recognized immune function health food.”
In the second session, the results of research on the efficacy of HemoHIM were presented.
Professor Song Wook of Seoul National University said, “Hemohim has been shown to improve fatigue by increasing antioxidant activity and suppressing tissue damage. “As measured by the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), the effect of improving physical fatigue was significant,” he explained.
Professor Gwang-soon Shin of Kyonggi University emphasized the biological effects of natural product-based polysaccharide ingredients and added, “Hemohym ingredients showed high potential in anti-inflammatory effects and activating immune function.”
In the last session, Professor Jinhan Kang of the Catholic University of Korea suggested the possibility of follow-up research on HemoHIM. He said, “HemoHIM has great potential for medical use, including improving immune aging, anti-inflammatory effects, and alleviating the side effects of radiation treatment. He emphasized, “Additional research is needed for immune-vulnerable groups.”
Kolmar BNH said, “We will accelerate the expansion of the global market by announcing plans to register health food in China and enter major European countries.”
Hemohim is a health functional food that improves immune function, jointly developed by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and Kolmar B&H. Awareness has improved significantly, with cumulative domestic and overseas sales exceeding 2 trillion won.
