New Delhi: In order to get a clear understanding of the country’s trade situation, the Union Ministry of Commerce has decided to release trade data only once a month.

A senior official said:

Since October 2020, trade data has been published twice a month. Preliminary data in the first week of the month; The revised final data was also published in the middle of the month.

But due to conflicts between these two, this decision has been taken.

Especially, in the data of last September, there has been a huge difference between the two data on export and import.

Preliminary data on September exports was released on October 3. In it, it was reported that merchandise exports saw a decline of 3.5 percent.

However, the final data released on October 14 showed a growth of 5 percent.

This is due to delays in the availability of data from various platforms related to exports.

Therefore, to avoid these confusions, the Ministry has decided to release the data only once a month from now on.

The data for last October will be released in the middle of this month. Preliminary data will not be published.

This is what he said.
