In its resolution, the Supreme Court explained that they gave rise to “the news reports against” Urbina Lara, “of which merit has been made”, related to alleged collection of fees and then not fulfilling the functions for which there had been been hired.
Urbina Lara, jailed since January 2021, posted on Facebook before his arrest for a traffic accident, that Nicaraguan businessman Henry Fariña, sentenced in 2012 to 30 years in prison for drug trafficking and other crimes, is the son-in-law of the president of the Supreme Court, Alba Luz Ramos.
