A, the ex-girlfriend of basketball player Heo Woong, has filed a complaint against Heo Woong for rape and assault.
Attorney Noh Jong-eon of the law firm Jaejeon, who is representing Mr. A, stated in a statement on the 15th, “Heo Woong’s former lover, Ms. A, filed a complaint for rape and assault at the Gangnam Police Station on the 9th, and the investigation of the accuser was completed on the 12th.”
Attorney Noh claimed, “After an argument over drinking at an izakaya in a hotel in Seoul around May 13-14, 2021, they moved to the smoking area on the first floor of the hotel and continued to argue. Heo Woong, who is about 185 cm tall, became enraged and assaulted Ms. A, who is about 160 cm tall, damaging her teeth (laminate). When people around him focused on him, he grabbed Ms. A’s hand and dragged her to a hotel room, where he forced her into sexual intercourse against her will, resulting in pregnancy.”
Next, he said, “This is a matter closely related to the fact that Mr. Heo Woong previously filed an attempted extortion complaint (the complaint states that he demanded 300 million won from May 29 to 31, 2021, as stated in the complaint).” He added, “This is a matter related to the judgment as to whether Mr. A said this in a fit of anger when he was disappointed in Mr. Heo for saying things like, “Take your time thinking about getting married, but have kids,” or whether there was a planned act of extortion with the intention of receiving 300 million won.”
Attorney Noh stated, “Mr. A’s side will faithfully cooperate with the investigation and prove their innocence,” and “In addition, a complaint against informant B, who spread false information to Mr. A’s side through a certain YouTube site, has been filed with the Gangnam Police Station on July 9, 2024.”
In the process, he said, “There is no change to our policy of strictly responding to the spread of false information, and we are also preparing additional lawsuits,” and added, “We earnestly ask that you fully consider this situation and refrain from indiscriminately spreading false information and causing secondary harm, thereby preventing legal disadvantages.”
On the 26th of last month, Heo Woong filed a complaint against Mr. A for attempted extortion, intimidation, violation of the Stalking Punishment Act and the Narcotics Control Act.
Since then, the two sides have been fighting over the truth about the two abortions that Ms. A had in the past. Heo Woong’s side claimed that he did not force her to have the surgeries and that she had the will to take responsibility for the child, but Ms. A refuted the claims, saying that both abortions were done under pressure from Heo Woong.
