Complications associated with the infection

The coordinator of Medical Programs of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Brendha Ríos Castillo, stressed that it is necessary to provide early care to avoid severe complications, such as cirrhosis and liver cancer that can occur when hepatitis C is not diagnosed or treated in a timely manner.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Health of Sonora, José Luis Alomía Zegarra, highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and care to reduce the negative impact that this disease can cause on health.
