After learning about this, she decided to leave him.

Such a relationship dilemma was shared on Reddit by a user with the nickname “MomBFVacuum”.

A 26-year-old woman revealed that her single mother died in a car accident almost three years ago. The author of the post and her sister were deeply affected by this tragedy.

But she was in for another shock: her fiance Ben, whom she had been dating for four years, was unwilling to provide the support she so desperately needed.

“He’s always been quite direct and he’s never been good at dealing with emotions (especially if they’re negative and if others feel them),” the woman explained.

She revealed that her partner’s attitude was shaped by his childhood experiences and the philosophy he “inherited” from his father.

Less than two weeks after the woman’s mother died, Ben moved out of the couple’s apartment and stayed with his friend. Fortunately, the woman was not alone – her sister took his place.

The author of the post said that Ben’s attempts to comfort usually only made the situation worse.

He only reconsidered his behavior after his friend’s girlfriend called him a sociopath for leaving his significant other alone during such a difficult time.

“Turns out it made him think about my feelings,” wrote MomBFVacuum. “I wanted to get a divorce even then – my sister also agreed with this decision – but he begged for another chance.”

“At that time, I was exhausted with grief, so I didn’t have the energy to be angry anymore. He decided to start seeing a psychotherapist alone and go to couples therapy with me, the woman said. “I could see that he was really trying to change, so we stayed together and after a while we got engaged.”

Despite the woman’s sister’s opposition, the couple began planning their wedding.

But it all came to an abrupt end when she found out what he had done.

MomBFVacuum explained that due to frequent thefts in their sister’s area, they decided to store their mother’s ashes at the post’s author’s home. The urn also contained their mother’s treasured rosaries and other jewelry and sentimental items.

One day the woman got a call from her sister to get a plastic rosary.

However, when the urn was opened, the author of the post was left speechless – there she found a plastic bag with sand.

“Rožančius was next to him. I opened and closed the urn three times, hoping that I was being played. “Soon, Ben came home and he found me staring at the urn,” the woman testified.

“He suddenly turned white and I knew he had done something. I asked him what that meant. In fact, I was surprised that he didn’t even try to lie and told me the whole truth in his long monologue,” the user shared.

She explained that Ben, who likes order, decided to tidy up the place where the woman’s mother’s ashes were, while the author was away on a business trip.

“I told him I would do it myself when I got back the next morning. But he kept sending me messages saying that I don’t know how to clean the dust and that he would fix everything quickly and I wouldn’t have to worry about it,” the woman recalled.

“I told him not to do anything. I said I would take care of it myself. After that, he stopped responding to my messages, she wrote. – When I returned home, everything looked the same as before I left. He apologized for his irritation and said he didn’t touch anything.”

“He testified that the whole situation was caused by his anxiety, and the area around his mother’s urn did not even need to be cleaned because it was not dusty. Then I believed him,” explained MomBFVacuum.

When caught, Ben admitted that he had been cleaning the place, and while he was cleaning up, the plastic bag containing the ashes burst open and spilled its contents onto the carpet.

“This man grabbed a pump and sucked my mother. Then, instead of returning the ashes to the urn, he threw everything in the trash, the woman consoled. “When I asked him why he didn’t just put her ashes back in the urn, he started staring at the floor.” He panicked, and when I got home he did everything he could to calm me down, just to make sure I didn’t touch the urn. The next day he went to the park and filled a plastic bag with sand from the children’s sandbox.”

After hearing his confession, the woman packed her things, moved to a hotel and blocked his number so that she could be alone for a while.

Some believe it was a mother’s last gift to her grieving daughter, helping her avoid marrying such a man.

One commenter wrote: “Your mother, even after her death, saved you from such a spouse.”

“This is her most wonderful gift to you. Her ashes prevented you from marrying a man who would make your whole life hell,” another user shared.

“Plant a tree somewhere important to your family and dedicate it to your mother. And dump such a loser,” said another commenter.
