With his cheeky goatee and grey waves of hair, the Klum lover from Australia was reminiscent of a timeless mixture of Zorro and a Sicilian Serie A midfield director. Why and how there was such a strong connection between the model and the celebrity hairstylist is still not entirely clear today.
There are still unconfirmed “love at first sight” rumors circulating online. Pipino’s marriage proposal is said to have been celebrated high up on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. One thing is certain: anyone who can survive a five-year marriage under the watchful eyes of the hungry tabloids without any notable scandals has definitely done their emotional homework.
In 2002, however, they separated. Even years after their marriage ended, there was no bad blood between the man who looks after the heads of Lady Gaga, Diane Lane and Donna Karan from New York and the fashion icon from Germany, who, in addition to Pipino, Formula 1 guru Flavio Briatore, musician Seal and her current husband Tom Kaulitz, also once dated a certain Vito Schnabel.
The latter is a good friend of Ric Pipino, as the Australian revealed to a tabloid in 2014. At the time of the interview, Heidi and her art dealer Vito had just started a relationship: “I’m happy for the two of them! It’s great if they’re happy. I wish them all the best,” said Pipino.
At that time, the Australian only sporadically encountered the name Heidi Klum. He had long since created a new love nest for himself, together with the brand consultant and entrepreneur Jenne Lombardo. She had three children: Bowie, Valentine and Roxie. However, the relationship was not meant to last forever.
In December 2020, Ric Pipino married Janet Marcel in Santa Barbara. With her he had another daughter: Sloane. On Instagram, the star hairdresser proudly shows off his offspring from time to time.
And Ric and Heidi? As the star hairdresser once said, contact between the former couple is now only sporadic. He avoids red carpets or big events where they could run into each other anyway: “I’ve become very selective. I prefer to spend time with my children,” said the Australian.
