Friday August 18, the 19/20 takes you to discover the “path of the two lakes” in the department of Hérault. Inaugurated last March, it offers a total change of scenery.
A diversity of exceptional landscapes: verdant forests, a precious rural heritage and the red rockeries of Lac de Salagou. Four days of hiking between lesser known and the most famous lake of Hérault, finally connected by a new GR. Julien Clémenceau is a child of the region. Tourist guide, he is one of the creators of the itinerary. The GRP starts at Lac du Bouloc. This 15-year-old project was born last March. “We left for 64 km, we will follow the GRP markup which is yellow and red”rejoices Julien Clémenceau.
A swim in the Lac du Salagou
Three itineraries are possible: the tour of the Lac d’Aven, the tour of Lake Salagou or the connection between the two lakes. On the way, Lou and Robert noticed two anomalies which they reported to Julien Clémenceau. This father and his daughter have decided to go around the Lac d’Avene. This new trail has been designed for the villages to take advantage of. The GR crosses the sheepfold of Basile and Emilie Dequiedt. Every day, they await the arrival of walkers. The hike ends on the side of the Salagou valley. After the effort, hikers enjoy a well-deserved swim.
