jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The 14th DPR RI Plenary Meeting for Session Period IV for the 2023-2024 Session Year approved the Draft Law on the Special Region of Jakarta (RUU DKJ) to be passed into law.
“Can the Draft Law on the Special Region of Jakarta be approved to become law?” asked the Chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, in the Plenary Meeting Room, DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Thursday (28/3).
The bill was approved to become the DKJ Law after Mbak Puan’s question was answered in the affirmative by all members and representatives of the factions present at the DPR RI Plenary Session.
Previously, Chairman of the DPR RI Legislative Body (Baleg) Supratman Andi Agtas explained the outline of the contents of the DKJ Bill.
“The agreed results of the discussion of the Bill on the regional government of the Special Region of Jakarta consist of 12 chapters and 73 articles which are broadly related to the following material,” said Supratman when delivering a report for decision making at Level II of the DPR Plenary Meeting in the Plenary Meeting Room, DPR RI Building , Jakarta, Thursday.
He then explained the seven outlines of material in the DKJ Bill.
First, improving the definition of agglomeration areas and provisions regarding the appointment of the chairman and members of the Agglomeration Area Council by the president, the procedures for appointment are regulated by a Presidential Decree.
Second, the provisions regarding the governor and deputy governor are elected through an election mechanism.
